SERVICES: TEACHER OF THE HEARING IMPAIRED/AUDIOLOGY
Teachers of the hearing impaired are trained to assess your child's hearing and to help children with hearing loss or hearing impairments to improve their overall development. Pediatric Therapy Professionals, Inc. maintains contracts with the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf Choices for Children Program and the DePaul Institute to utilize their specialists for children who have hearing loss or impairments. Teachers of the hearing impaired are trained to help children to improve their ability to understand and to communicate with others. They are experienced with cochlear implants, the use of sign language, augmentative communication devices, and are familiar with various methods to improve expressive communication and speech for children with hearing loss.
